Teaching Philosophy:

I believe everyone can sing. Every student has a unique voice and sound. My goal is to help cultivate YOUR unique voice, to help you to become the best singer you can be. By implementing healthy vocal technique, I believe singers can sing in any genre - with practice, determination, and hard work. I tailor lessons to the individual student based on his or her musical needs. I am passionate about providing a fun learning experience to all ages - whether you’re 6 or 80, let’s SING!

VOICE LESSONS

Voice lessons are available for students ages 6 through adult (Yes, I have taught ages 80 and up - it’s never too late to learn!) with primarily focus on voice production, technique, ear training and musicianship skills. A variety of repertoire will be explored including classical, folk, broadway/musical theatre, pop, and contemporary styles. I believe in taking what you’ve learned with me in lessons and applying it to performing! Performance opportunities include 2 studio recitals per year (one in December and June), local festivals and competitions, RCM examinations, and open mic nights at Mahtay Cafe in St. Catharines (always a big favourite with studio families!)

PIANO LESSONS

Piano lessons are available for students starting at age 5 - however I work with beginners, intermediate and advanced students of all ages! Lessons consist of learning proper piano technique with music theory training and ear training/musicianship skills. A variety of repertoire will be explored including classical, folk, broadway, pop, and jazz styles. I help prepare students for RCM examinations, which occur in January, June, and August, if they are interested in this. I also work with singers who are interested in learning chording and self-accompaniment. Performance opportunities include 2 studio recitals per year, local festivals and competitions, and RCM examinations.
